It only took me a few months but I finally got down to the Docklands. Thank goodness for twitter or else I wouldn’t know of half the things I find to do. I wish I had found out about the market before its last day, but at least I got to go.

The People’s Market is fairly new & it looks like it can bring in a different venue crowd on a weekly basis. Since it’s end of season, I have a feeling it was a mellow kind of day for the market. It’s a unique space since with booths set up in & around shipping containers. Great touristy backdrops & graffiti make up the walls of the grounds. Mostly vintage pieces, it was fun walking around & checking out all the unique items for sale; fringe & neon anyone?

Seeing a booth selling Aussie animal cuisine, we couldn’t resist. Me & friend, Zoë, ended up snacking on a Croc Burger, Kangaroo on a stick & Croc spring roles. Tastes like chicken to me. Best were the spring roles.

My Grandmother was cleaning out many corners of her house & I ended up inheriting a bunch of vintage catalogues. My favourite is the classy poses & random backgrounds that each model appears in. There are whole pages of travel collections depending which region of Ontario you’re traveling & what weather to expect. I’m never giving up these hilarious gems.

I played with this dollhouse as a kid! It was at my Grandparents & went through more than a few generations of play. I have a feeling a cousin of mine pretended to be Godzilla with it one day & broke it. Very tempted to grab this vintage Etsy find.

This is my most favourite vintage gift find anyone could ever give me. Vintage owls are already such a super find, but this one takes the cake!

First, it has googly eyes. There’s a great SNL sketch that’s impossible to find with Christopher Walken in which he puts googly eyes on plants to make them seem more friendly. Now everytime time I hear that word I only think of Chirstopher Walken saying “googly eyes” like no other man could.

Second, there’s a place on the left hand side to hold your rings while you cook or bake delicious cakes using these utensils. It’s such a considerate owl.

Third, this catch-phrase for a measuring scoop holder is unbeatable! Spooning for you to make the best cakes in town. How can you beat that?! Of course, I’ve never thought about an owl spooning before but maybe in Clear Lake Manitoba they do.

Fourth, I can’t finish without saying that this treasure find is a definite hoot!

Love the colours of this Etsy find.

Reminds me of the illustrations short “The Selfish Giant.” Jack Frost, of course.

I can’t love Mood Rings without giving some credit to the movie My Girl.

Who out there remembers these little mood ring beauties?

Please excuse multiple postings on mood rings. I bought one recently on vacay & have loved the joys of watching them change colour again & again. They’re a childhood gem that I think should be relived again.

This “Lock” charm is actually from an old typewriter key. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “under lock & key” now doesn’t it?

Super cute sheer button down vintage dress. Found on Etsy

If you haven’t already heard I’ve designed a new item now available in the CUE Etsy Shop! These LIMITED card slides are special items because they feature vintage yarn.

Designed as a convenient way to carry cards & bills when a wallet is too much to carry. Designed & created by me, Cory U.

I got a nice little bag of vintage yarn donated to me! They’re perfect sizes for a new one-of-a-kind project I want to do & what a perfect day to start. It’s gloomy & I could only take advantage of the sun for about an hour today. Then both my batteries ran out, my charger is no where to be found, & the sun ran away again. Just my luck.

There’s a few picture product updates like this one on Etsy but the rest will have to wait for a sunny day. In the meantime I’ll be busy crocheting with all this vintage yarn.
