I’ve had a ring with this pattern for over 2 years now only to find out this week it’s over 100 years old! These Daisy Spoons are from 1910 & I just found a bracelet similar to this one for a matching set.

This is my most favourite vintage gift find anyone could ever give me. Vintage owls are already such a super find, but this one takes the cake!

First, it has googly eyes. There’s a great SNL sketch that’s impossible to find with Christopher Walken in which he puts googly eyes on plants to make them seem more friendly. Now everytime time I hear that word I only think of Chirstopher Walken saying “googly eyes” like no other man could.

Second, there’s a place on the left hand side to hold your rings while you cook or bake delicious cakes using these utensils. It’s such a considerate owl.

Third, this catch-phrase for a measuring scoop holder is unbeatable! Spooning for you to make the best cakes in town. How can you beat that?! Of course, I’ve never thought about an owl spooning before but maybe in Clear Lake Manitoba they do.

Fourth, I can’t finish without saying that this treasure find is a definite hoot!

This bird has a bill shaped like a spoon! What better name for him than a Spoon-billed Sandpiper?

Unfortunately, this bird could be extinct in ten years. Hopefully not.

There are couple bands I will always come back to. SPOON will definitely always be a favourite. “I Summon You” was the song that got me hooked & this acoustic version is pretty awesome to listen to. If only all cab rides were like this… or cash cabs.

Hanging out with my GH school gang. Last time me & Spooner were here we took an epic pic closely resembling King Kong & Ann Darrow. This time it was a little more pleasant. Lifeguard meets King Kong. (I was prepared!)
