The Danger Zone was the very start of CUExperiments & my designs.

After countless hours of watching Gilmore Girls, my dress is finally done! The sleeves were actually pretty fun to make seeing the red satin pop between each piece as I put them together. To finish it off tomorrow I’ll be adding a CUE Candy Apple Bow to the mix.

PS sewing to Gilmore Girls is probably the best thing ever. That show has the perfect amount of creative quirkiness to keep you going.
These sleeves are actually becoming the most challenging part of the whole outfit. Might have to take liberties & make them more like water wings. Silly me didn’t make the top suitable for sleeves to attach. Like I said, it’s all an experiment & this is just a quick sketch:

I have to say my costume is coming along just as well as planned. I never know since I don’t use a pattern & most times I’m short on the stock pile of fabric I have. I’ll be working on sleeves tonight. This is definitely a good personal CUExperiment challenge for me.

My costume! A complete WIP & the only thing on my mind right now. Want to just get home & finish it all up.

“Pocahontas dress so far. Love patternless sewing.”

I would never be able to rest anything on this table because I’d be too busy using its contents! Looks great but a little impractical for active crafters.

It’s been a busy week trying to fit costuming into an already busy schedule. Multiple dresses to sew in red, green & white fabric. Lots of white fabric.
Hopefully I’ll be able/allowed to post some final costume updates when they’re all finished too.

So apparently the dress I’m sewing may have sleeves. With a twist of fabric it kind of went through a major change since the last pinning. Like I said, I don’t use a pattern & never know the end result until it’s done. My Danger Zone creation continues…

Got back to some sewing this weekend. I think the last time I created anything with some scissors, fabric & thread was Halloween when I created a green dress to go as Peter Pan. Anyways…. Back to what’s been going on in “The Danger Zone”:
I never have a pattern & never have a full idea of the end result until it’s done. I got this beautiful grey fabric gifted to me & finally got some inspiration to throw some stitches together again. So far it’s mostly been a bunch of pinning & finger pricking. I’ll keep you updated as I go along.

PS. The Danger Zone is where I do most of my creating & experimenting. It’s best to tread softly since many pins end up making their home in my carpet. The name is also inspired by a few lines written by Gwen Stefani.
