Owls

Now this is a beautiful creature. Looks like such a wise owl. I think I’d end up telling it stories. He looks like such a great listener doesn’t he?

& I sound a little crazy, don’t I?

By Ann Wood, there seems to be a wonderful niche for textile animals made in the same way to this and it’s just gorgeous. The tactility of the fabric chosen and the colours all are just awesome, the birds have the same wonderful characterful feeling that Abigail Brown’s work has.

This is my most favourite vintage gift find anyone could ever give me. Vintage owls are already such a super find, but this one takes the cake!

First, it has googly eyes. There’s a great SNL sketch that’s impossible to find with Christopher Walken in which he puts googly eyes on plants to make them seem more friendly. Now everytime time I hear that word I only think of Chirstopher Walken saying “googly eyes” like no other man could.

Second, there’s a place on the left hand side to hold your rings while you cook or bake delicious cakes using these utensils. It’s such a considerate owl.

Third, this catch-phrase for a measuring scoop holder is unbeatable! Spooning for you to make the best cakes in town. How can you beat that?! Of course, I’ve never thought about an owl spooning before but maybe in Clear Lake Manitoba they do.

Fourth, I can’t finish without saying that this treasure find is a definite hoot!

I saw this & I didn’t know whether to smile or cry.

“We were born in the North Pole. But my hometown is disappearing now.”

PS Owls & bunnies are born in the North Pole? hmmmm.

Remarkable Owl.

My cousin itsnomers came to visit last week. She left me with this sketch from sketchbook mobile on my phone. Thanks Nomy!

So adorable. I think I’ll name him Steve.
