Six months after moving in, taping up lace windows, & tying in yarn clothes lines, our apartment looked a lot more lived in. As much of a mess as it looks, I do thank Dana for taking these photos when she did. It was right around the time I was prepping for a market & had yarn & supplies strewn everywhere. It was also just around the time we were started to think of packing up more than cleaning up; so corners of rooms started to make calculated piles of what would be grouped & packed together.
Anyways, here’s some more views of our tiny kitchen & eating area. You can also see some of my crafty desk corner & our “lived in” room. Within a short amount of time, all my things ended up crammed into the four bags you see us sitting on. Leaving for Brisbane, Dana still had a day to pack like a maniac & I still don’t know how she did it. This photo of us was our last moments in Australia together sitting across all my luggage which will some how also travel home with me in the end.
I’ll still always remember chatting with airport security before that morning’s flight to Brisbane… “Did you leave anything at home with you?”, they asked as I pulled out every electronic device for them to scan. “Sir, this is my home,” & it still will be for another 70-ish days until this Working Holiday has finished.
