Last weekend was the St. Kilda Festival. Blocking off half the neighborhood, the streets were full of entertainment of so much variety. There were buskers of all sorts & multiple stages performing a variety of music & interactive sets. The food booths represented all cultures & there were games to play & sights to see all over.

I couldn’t help but compare the festival to Toronto’s “The Ex” back home. Unfortunately, I’ve got to say that I liked this one better. 1) It’s free. 2) There’s actually more food variety (excluding the crazy deep fried foods). 3) The stages! There were at least 5 stages spread out playing different musics all day long.

We even got to test out a “silent disco” set up in one of the tents. It sounds a little bizarre dancing around with a group of people wearing headphones but it actually works out pretty well. Three DJ’s play live & its audience gets to skim back & forth between the three music channels through the headphones… It’s perfect for our ADD generation.

I have some good videos from that day to mesh together hopefully very soon.

Exploring the St. Kilda Festival video is up now.

PS That giant headphone installation actually played music out of its speakers.
