Before leaving The Dandenongs we walked through a bit of the Hardy Gully & explored our first Aussie rainforest. Couldn’t help but keep looking up at the tall trees & wildlife. Even the ferns were like giant trees hovering over us. (Back home ferns grow close to the ground & not above your head.)
We didn’t come across any during our walk, but apparently the Lyrebird can be found in The Dandenongs. It’s the bird of paradise that can mimick sounds & noises that it hears. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should really watch this BBC clip. This bird can even mimick chainsaw & camera shutter sounds!
Can’t wait to see more environments like this!
