From Kangaroos in the morning to a drive through The Dandenongs to see some parrots… It was probably the hottest day since we arrived here & we couldn’t believe the difference in the air from our suburb to here. The closer we got to the rain forests the cooler the air got. After driving past One Tree Hill & Ferntree Gully we ended in Hardy Gully surrounded by birds. There were at least 5 species around but these were the bravest birds of the lot. The greediest birds being the Sulphur-crested Cockatoos that ended up clawing our arms & nipping at our ankles. I still have some scratches on my arms! I have to give out a big Thank You! to our Canadian tour guides Cassie & Steve (both pictured) for helping us find these great animal adventures all weekend long. We just need to find some koalas now. -Cory U PS Every time I hear Ferntree Gully all I think of is THIS! Fern Gully does exist!
