It’s not my full name but those near & dear to me have often called me Cory. I’ve created this blog to showcase my work, creative process & day to day life & inspirations. I’m currently traveling across the globe from my home country in Canada to Australia. You can read up on my travelling endeavours specifically in the Adventure 2012 tab.

I’m a 20-something Business Graduate with a flare for creativity. I live to create new & inspired items from patterns I personally design. Crocheting in particular has been a technique I’ve been able to perfect after being taught at the age of 7. I’ve also had other artistic outlets over the years including sewing, beading, & even lace making.

The drive & inspiration for CUExperiments came from the past few years of attending Uni. During my third year, I couldn’t stand not having any more creative outlets & was going crazy analyzing business cases non stop. It was the first time I had nothing to make or imagine anymore. I even attended an arts school during my high school career, so you can guess I wasn’t very happy. For the winter holiday I made a list of everything creative I wanted to cram into one month. I started with reading multiple Nylon magazines & finished with making & designing an entire hooded coat. I was hooked again & there was no way I was going back to forgetting how much creating my own designs made me happy.

Since then I’ve sewn myself dresses by staring at a mannequin for days on end, sketched from scribbles to keep my mind creatively active, and more recently I started crocheting again. I’ve even brought my crocheting with me while travelling!

A weird little fact about me? I grew up with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. As a kid, my joints would hurt to the point where I wouldn’t want to move them anymore. My joints still hurt occasionally & my body really doesn’t like the cold. Oddly enough, my hands tend to be in the most pain still but I try to work through it & always remember to stretch.

For more about me, you can check out my personal posts here.

Don’t forget that you can also stop by the CUExperiments shop at Etsy!
